1. Wetting agents are additives used for wetting an object with water. These agents lower the surface tension of the aqueous liquid as well as the contact angle with the base material and facilitate wetting and penetration during the coating and dipping process.
2. Dispersant or Dispersing agent is a substance, typically a surfactant, that is added to a suspension of solid or liquid particles in a liquid (such as a colloid or emulsion) to improve the separation of the particles and to prevent their settling or clumping.

Application
Edaplan 930 is a high molecular weight dispersing agent for sovent-based and high-solid systems. It is also suitable for water-based systems. EDAPLAN 930 is designed for dispersing organic and inorganic pigments, as well as fillers. EDAPLAN 930 reduces the viscosity at low shear ranges and stabilizes the pigment against flocculation. Furthermore it increases gloss and color strength of the coating.
